Professional Image / Dress Code

PROFESSIONAL IMAGE

All Cosmetology Future Professionals must adhere to the following professional dress code while in attendance in ALL BLACK:

  1. Clothing should be professional and clean.
  2. Shoes should be black, professional, practical, and comfortable.
  3. Hair should be styled prior to arriving at the school.
  4. Any cosmetics should be applied prior to arriving at the school.
  5. Jeans, any rips or tears must fall below the fingertips, when standing up - BLACK only.
  6. Stylish hats, scarves, and stylish head wraps - BLACK only
  7. Shorts and/or skirts that fall below the fingertips
  8. Skirts or Dresses in All BLACK. Black tights or leggings must be worn if the skirt or dress falls above the knee.
  9. Sweatshirts, printed T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts and/or jackets with the Paul Mitchell logo.
  10. Paul Mitchell Logo T-Shirt.
  11. Name tag.

All Barbering Future Professionals must adhere to the following professional dress code while in attendance in ALL BLACK.

  1. Optional, but recommended: Straight Tie or Bow - BLACK only.
  2. Optional, but recommended: Button down shirt.
  3. Accessories may include: Belt, Arm-Garter, Suspenders, Socks or Shoes - must be in BLACK only.
  4. Shoes should be black, professional, practical, and comfortable.
  5. Jeans, any rips or tears must fall below the fingertips, when standing up - BLACK only.
  6. Barber Smocks are optional - BLACK only.
  7. Fedoras, Flat Hats, Ascot Caps, Scarves or Stylish Head Wraps may be worn - BLACK only.
  8. Shorts and/or skirts that fall below the fingertips
  9. Skirts or Dresses in All BLACK. Black tights or leggings must be worn if the skirt or dress falls above the knee
  10. Paul Mitchell Logo T-Shirt.
  11. Name tag

All Esthetics Future Professionals must adhere to the following professional dress code while in attendance in All BLACK.

  1. All Black Scrubs are required. Scrubs can be any combination of the following: Scrub pants and Scrubs top, Scrub one piece jumper or Scrub dress that falls below the fingertips.
  2. Clothing should be professional and clean.
  3. Shoes should be black, professional, practical, and comfortable.
  4. Hair should be styled prior to arriving at the school.
  5. Any cosmetics should be applied prior to arriving at the school.
  6. Stylish hats, scarves, and stylish head wraps - BLACK only.
  7. Paul Mitchell logo T-shirt with Black Scrub pants.
  8. Name tag
  9. No nail enhancements such as acrylic nails, nail wraps, dips etc. Natural Nails must be kept short.

The following is a list of unacceptable dress for all Cosmetology Makeup, Cosmetology, Cosmetology / Barbering, Barbering, Esthetics, and Makeup Future Professionals in attendance:

  1. Gym Shoes, Foot Thongs, Crocs, Uggs & Beach Sandals.
  2. Low cut tops, backless tops, crops tops, tank tops, spaghetti strap tops.
  3. Sweatpants or Legging as pants
  4. Sweatshirts or hoodies, other than those with the Paul Mitchell logo.
  5. Shorts or skirts that fall above fingertips, when standing up.
  6. Baseball hats, Visors, Bandanas, caps, or beanies.
  7. Spandex or biking shorts.
  8. Sunglasses, headphones, headgear, and/or earphones are not permitted in the classroom or the clinic classroom.
  9. Any print on shirts or pants other than Paul Mitchell.

Future Professionals who fail to comply with the Future Professional dress code may be coached and may receive an advisory.
